Join us for an insightful event hosted by ReteDonne Netherlands, featuring a screening of the newly restored classic film, "Donna: Women in Revolt" (1980), from the Cinemien collection. Directed by Yvonne Scholten, the film explores 80 years of women's resistance in Italy. Using archival footage and interviews, Scholten sheds light on the Italian women's movement and their defiance against various forms of oppression.

Delve into overlooked aspects of history as the film examines the divide between early feminists and women in peasant and labor movements, as well as the complexities of post-war left-wing parties and second-wave feminism. "Donna: Women in Revolt" provides a nuanced understanding of women's roles often neglected in historical accounts.

This restoration project, a collaboration between the Netherlands Institute for Sound & Vision and Eye Filmmuseum, is made possible by A Season of Classic Films, an initiative of Association des Cinémathèques Européennes (ACE) supported by the EU Creative Europe MEDIA programme.

Experience a piece of European cinematic history and participate in a discussion with director Yvonne Scholten, ReteDonne Germany President Luciana Mella, and ReteDonne Netherlands Founder Letizia Maulá, who will all be present. After the screening, engage in a lively panel discussion with the creators and delve deeper into the themes explored in the film.
